CANTON – The Buffalo Stampede did what stampedes do as they opened their stay at the 2023 Pre-Draft Showcase running all over Team Warriors to a 6-2 Jr. A victory Friday evening at the Canton Ice House.
Buffalo went to work early as Brendan Hirliman put them on the scoreboard first in the first. Cameran Coogan and Matthew Ribblett each then added a goal of their own to set the advantage at 3-0 Stampede.
The Warriors got on the board late in the frame with a goal by David Cook to close the first half at 3-1, but the Stampede came right back with another three in the second to make it a runaway.
Caden Cavalieri, Ethan Stappenbeck and Lex Roidan each with a Buffalo score in the second, while Jake Kloss was credited with the Warriors goal to round out the scoring at its 6-2 final.
Lucas Price was credited with the win in the Buffalo net.
