CANTON – The Quebec Prospects opened their College Open division slate at the 2023 Pre-Draft Showcase with a 5-1 win on Friday over Top Speed Hockey.
Santino Tiberio started the game’s scoring and gave Top Speed the game’s first lead with their score as the opening half approached its midpoint, but goals from Xavier Lebel and Sam Cardinal gave Quebec a 2-1 halftime they lead they did not relinquish.
Logan Gee, Oliver Tochette and a shorthanded score from Leo Adams accounted for the Quebec goals in the second half that finalized the victory. Goaltender Carlo Giordani kept Top Speed off the board in the latter frame to earn his first victory of the tournament in the Quebec net.
