EPS 1 routs Wildcats, 10-1

Maher nets four in comfortable win.

FOXBORO – It may have taken some time, but once Team EPS’ offense got rolling on Friday afternoon at the Foxboro Sports Center, they became virtually unstoppable, ringing up double digits in a 10-1 victory over Wildcats Elite Navy.

John Maher made the first of many appearances on the score sheet as he opened the floodgates with the game’s first goal at 7:31 of the first half. Nolan Vesey upped the lead to 2-0 when he beat Wildcat starter Peter Ciccarelli at 18:51. Maher’s second of the day at 20:33 gave EPS a 3-0 halftime lead.

The second half was where things got interesting as EPS exploded for seven to burry the Wildcats. Maher completed his hat trick and opened the lead to 4-0 before Nicolas Vlahos was able to stop the bleeding, getting the Wildcats on the board at 7:29. That was as good as things got for the Wildcats, however, as EPS continued to roll for another six goals in the half.

Seven different EPS skaters were credited with multiple points in the contest. Maher led the way with four goals and an assist. Vesey (3G, 1A) and Tom Besinger each had four point showings, while Trevor Fidler contributed two goals and an assist.
