CANTON – The PAL Islanders started their 2025 Pre Draft Showcase 1-0-0. They did so defeating the Mole Hockey Thunderbirds 3-1 in their tournament opener on Friday at the Canton Ice House.
PAL’s offense did their damage in the first. Richie Bovich led the charge netting all three of his side’s goals – including one on the power play – in the opening stanza.
Mole got on the board in the second, courtesy of a Colin Daugherty tally, but it was their only entry into the scoring column. Islanders netminder Noah Groenveld locked down the defensive end for the victors, solidifying the 3-1 College Open win.
