ATTLEBORO – The Valley Jr. Warriors remain unbeaten through two games at the 2019 Pre-Draft Showcase. After a tie earlier in the day, Valley defeated Tropics Blue 5-1 later on Friday at the New England Sports Village.
It was a slower start, but the Warriors stormed to the finish of the game’s first half, amassing a 3-1 lead by the break on goals by Tate Stanfield (11:13), Isaac Espinosa (15:48) and Matt Smith (17:13). A power play goal by Chase Lapworth at 14:26 accounted for the Tropics’ goal in the half.
Valley was right back after it in the second half, adding another pair from two more different goal scorers. Louis Staffieri and Mike Clougherty accounting for the Warriors fourth and fifth goals, while Padraig Capsalis stood tall in net and let no more Tropics’ pucks behind him in the second half.
