Vipers close Day 1 with win.

Pre Draft Showcase started back in 1989. It our 35 year anniversary this year.

FOXBORO – The Michigan Vipers took home the win in the final game slated for the opening day of play at the 2025 Pre Draft Showcase. It went down as a 4-3 victory over the CWE Prospects in College Open play on Friday evening at the Foxboro Sports Center.

Much of the game’s scoring took place in the second half, as the first saw each side score a goal apiece. Tyler Sims put the Vipers on the board first. CWE’s Jake Falevich had the game back to even at 1-1 less than two minutes afterwards with the score at 13:36 of the first half.

The game remained tight throughout. Michigan restored the one-goal advantage on another Sims goal at 6:50 of the second, though CWE once again tied it, this time on a Tyler Bertelsen score.

A power play goal by Mason Blow put Michigan back in the lead. Austin Hutchinson then gave them a two-goal advantage with a goal coming with just under three minutes remaining in regulation.

Max Godshall scored shorthanded to get CWE back to within one, but with just seconds remaining on the game clock, there was no further comeback to be had for the Prospects.

Sims (2G), Blow (1G, 1A) and Hutchinson (1G, 1A) were each credited with a pair of points in leading the Vipers’ offense. Godshall, Bertelsen and Falevich each were credited with a goal and an assist for CWE.
