Titans tangle with Team Florida.

BRIDGEWATER – As the first full day of play at New England Pro Am’s 2018 Pre-Draft Showcase neared its end, the Mass Titans and Team Florida met at the Bridgewater Ice Arena on Friday evening. It was the second College Open game of the tournament for the Titans. For Team Florida, it was something of a slow start as they dropped their tournament opener 5-2.

While the final did not end in their favor, Team Florida was the first on the scoreboard as Anders Bowen notched the game’s first goal at 10:47 of the opening half. Their lead did not last long, however, as Jackson Dobek drew the game back to even just three minutes later for a 1-1 tie that remained until halftime.

As the second half neared its midpoint, the Titans took hold of the scoreboard. Back-to-back strikes just 1:03 apart from Ryan Saunders and Dillon Arno at 12:13 and 13:16, respectively, opened up a two-goal advantage for the Titans, who never looked back.

With the Titans leading 4-1 late in the game following a goal by James Davenport, Team Florida struck again. Douglas Randle made it 4-2 at 24:38. As just 22 sconds remained on the game clock, there was no time left for a rally, however, and Arno struck again just seconds later to finalize the 5-2 score.
