CANTON – The first day of play at the 2021 Pre-Draft Showcase ticked to the afternoon with Pine Creek doubling up the Lovell Knights for a 6-3 win in College Open play at the Canton Ice House.
Pine Creek and the Knights went back-and-forth in the game’s opening half. Goals by Sam Kleinsmith and Alex Bergquist sandwiched one from Knights forward Ryan O’Donnell for a 2-1 Pine Creek lead at the break.
As doubles were the theme of the contest, both sides doubled their scoring output in the second half. Lovell went from one to two with another goal from O’Donnell and one from Reid Martin. Pine Creek in turn went from two to four. Bergquist added a second, while Pine Creek also got scores from Austin Gipson, CJ Reid and Garret Bogart.
The game ending with a 6-3 final.
