ATTLEBORO – It was a 5-0, shutout victory for Springfield to close out the second day’s slate of Pre-Draft games at the New England Sports Village on Saturday evening. They defeated BGP Selects in Jr. A division play.
Springfield jumped out to a cozy lead in the first, posting three unanswered in the frame. Brodie DeBruin, Sam O’Connell and Connor Hogue each credited with a goal in the frame.
Despite having a comfortable advantage, Springfield went on to tack on some extra insurance in the second. O’Connell scored a second and Liam Barkus netted his first of the tournament to finalize the game’s scoring.
Netminder Dante Souza was credited with the shutout for Springfield.
