CANTON – With pool play winding down at the 2025 Pre Draft Showcase, NorthStar Elite (Jr. A 2) closed out the day’s slate of games at the Canton Ice House with a 2-1 victory over the Hersey Cubs.
NorthStar took the lead early, getting a pair of first half goals from Brock Wakeland, while netminder Chase Hennessy kept Hersey off the board for a 2-0 halftime advantage.
Hersey was able to break through the Hennessy wall in the second on a goal from Maxfield McCabe at 10:31, cutting their deficit to one. Though there was time on the game clock, there was no further comeback to be had. Hennessy and the NorthStar defense shut things down the rest of the way to preserve the 2-1 victory.
