CANTON – They were not able to secure a win, but JB Academy did stand in the way of the Knights’ perfect preliminary round at the 2021 Pre-Draft Showcase as the two teams played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon at the Canton Ice House.
It was a scoreless first half and it was a very similar conclusion to the second half. JB took the game’s first lead on a Richard Davis score at 14:08, but the Knights’ Drew McCounahy drew things back to even in the game’s closing minutes to make it a 1-1 tie.
The real stars of the game went to the netminders, who thwarted all but a pair of attempts between them. Jake Stern and Jacob Snellenberg split the duties from the Academy net, while Greyson Pane manned the pipes for the Knights.
