Competitive Edge shuts out Eels White

Dorozinsky credited with 28 saves in clean sheet.

FOXBORO – Competitive Edge met Florida Eels White on Friday in the opening round of the 2015 New England Pro-Am Hockey Pre-Draft Showcase and they found their edge in the form of goaltender Kevin Dorozinsky. The Junior Flyers product keyed Edge’s victory, posting a shutout in his squad’s 3-0 win.

The goals were few, but the attempts were plenty and the goaltending was on point at both ends of the ice in the opening half, combining to turn away a reported 28-of-29 shots over the 25 minutes. Only Edge defenseman Tom Liberta was able to find the back of the net, scoring at 11:59 for the 1-0 advantage.

Things took a turn for the worse for the Eels coming out of the break, Edge getting back on the board just 20-seconds in to extend their margin to 2-0. A second insurance goal then added by Josh Hunderliter at 7:38. With their comfortable 3-0 lead in hand, Dorozinsky continued to get the job done between the pipes, posting another 13 saves in the frame for a reported total of 28 in the game to complete the shutout.
