CHE beats clock, Wildcats Elite

Langfield scores in closing seconds for win.

FOXBORO – There are 50-minutes of hockey scheduled for ever opening round game in the 2015 New England Pro-Am Hockey Pre-Draft Showcase. CHE needed every last one of them on Friday to come away with a 4-3 victory over Wildcats Elite at Foxboro Sports Center.

After trading goals all game, the real drama came in the game’s final five minutes. Tied 2-2, forward Jeff Schrattner gave CHE their first lead of the contest on a goal coming at 20:29. The lead, however, was short lived as Adam Tracey – the game’s leading scorer with one goal and two assists – drew the Wildcats back to even, 3-3, less than 30-seconds later at 20:53.

The score remained 3-3 until the game reached its final minute of regulation time. With the game all but over and a tie all but assured, Connor Langfield – the game’s only multi-goal scorer – came through for a second time, beating Wildcat netminder Kurt Moss with just 0:16 remaining in the contest to give CHE the 4-3 win.
