Buffalo roam past MOLE, 5-4.

DEDHAM – Change of venue, same result for the Buffalo Stampede. They made it two wins in two games at the 2023 Pre-Draft Showcase when they defeated MOLE hockey 5-4 on Saturday at Boch Ice Arena.

While they rolled in their first contest of the tournament, Buffalo found themselves in a tight one with MOLE, remaining even as the opening half came to a close tied at 2-2. Caden Cavalieri scored both Stampede goals, while MOLE got one each from Tanner O’Ole and Ryley Scanlon.

The second half was much the same. Buffalo gained the lead in the opening minutes and then extended it to a 4-2 advantage on a power play goal by Oliver Cabala, but were never able to fully distance themselves from their opponent.

Sean O’Yrie had MOLE back to within one just past the midpoint of the second half, which is where things stayed until the two sides traded goals again in the closing minutes to set things at their 5-4 final.

Lucas Prince took home the win in the Buffalo net.
