CANTON – The second day of opening round play at the 2022 Pre-Draft Showcase got underway on Saturday morning. One of the first wins of the day went to the Quebec Prospects, who defeated Power Play Prospects Metro 5-3 in College Open play.
While Quebec stood atop in the end, it was the Prospects who claimed the opening frame, as they led the game 1-0 after the first half. Their slim margin, coupled with a pair of goals from Carson Curry in the second – one while shorthanded – was not enough, however, as the Quebec offense exploded in the later half.
All five of Quebec’s goals came in that later frame, each one credited to a different skater. Charles Thomassin led the victors’ offense with a goal and an assist. Amine Haljibi, Raphael Noah Boiteau, AJ Saadeh and Anthony Hall were the other credited goal scorers for Quebec.
Gregor Jennersjo went down as the winning netminder.
